Happy Mother’s Day

Hi Everyone.

I wanted to share my very first Mother’s day with you.  A little bit about my life: my mother passed away 7 years ago.  It was hard then and it is still very hard to live without a mother.  I did not have anyone to call or ask her opinion when I needed it.  I did not have anyone to talk to when I got pregnant.  I did not have my mother when my son was born.

My mother (right) watching me learn how to walk.  Saudi-Arabia 1986.

I woke up to the smell of pancakes in my home.  I found my husband taking care of my son and making mini-pancakes!  This from someone who never cooks.  I received a little box with a beautiful custom-made necklace that had “Mom” written on it.  I could not have asked for a better start of my day!

We were invited for brunch at my in-laws house, my brother-in-law made a lovely brunch for us all.  I enjoyed being surrounded by two women, my MIL and SIL, who both have supported me from the moment I met them.  I want to thank my amazing sister-in-law, who is a mother of three amazing children, for all the great advice she’s given me.  If I can become half the mother she is, I would be very happy!

We took Avery to the playground after brunch.  The rest of the day was just snuggles, playtime and relaxing.  If only every day could be like this! 😉

Happy Mother’s Day to every amazing Mommy out there!

Happy Mother’s Day!
